Insurance & superbills

We are an out-of-network provider. After each session we can give you a superbill to submit to your insurer; many PPO plans reimburse 50–80% once your deductible is met. We are happy to walk you through checking your benefits.

Sliding scale

A limited number of reduced-fee spots are reserved for clients whose circumstances make the full rate a barrier. Just ask during your consult — no documentation required, and no awkwardness.

Payment is due at the time of service by card, HSA or FSA. We ask for 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule; late cancellations are charged the full session fee. Good Faith Estimate: you have the right to a written estimate of expected costs before starting care under the No Surprises Act.

Policies, in plain language

The small print, without the small print.

We would rather you know how things work up front than be surprised later. Here is how we handle the practical side of care.

  • Cancellations. 24 hours’ notice, please. Late cancellations and no-shows are charged the full fee, except in true emergencies.
  • Confidentiality. What you share is protected by law. The narrow exceptions are explained in writing before your first session.
  • Good Faith Estimate. Under the No Surprises Act you can request a written estimate of expected costs at any time.
  • Between sessions. Email and the client portal are for scheduling. For anything urgent, call — and in a crisis, call or text 988.

How do I know if therapy is right for me?

If something has felt heavy, stuck or louder than usual for more than a few weeks, that is reason enough. You do not need a diagnosis or a crisis to come in. The free consult is a good place to think it through together.

What happens in the first session?

Mostly we talk. We go over what brought you in, what you are hoping changes, and how you like to work. You will leave with a sense of direction, and we will check in regularly about whether it still fits.

Do you take insurance?

We are out-of-network for all plans, which lets us keep sessions private and unhurried. We provide monthly superbills you can submit for reimbursement, and we will help you check your out-of-network benefits before you start.

How often will we meet, and for how long?

Most clients start weekly and move to every other week as things settle. Some finish in a few months; others stay longer for deeper work. There is no minimum commitment, and you can pause or stop at any time.

Is telehealth as effective as in-person therapy?

For most concerns, research shows comparable outcomes. What matters most is a private space and a reliable connection. Some clients mix the two — in person when they can, video when life is full.

What is your cancellation policy?

We ask for 24 hours’ notice. Late cancellations and no-shows are charged the full session fee, except in emergencies. We will always try to find you another slot the same week.

Is what I share confidential?

Yes. Everything you tell us is protected by law and by our ethics code. The narrow exceptions — imminent risk to you or someone else, suspected abuse of a child or vulnerable adult, or a court order — are explained in full at your first session.
